Registration of Birth and Issue of Birth Certificate
- Parents may apply for registration of birth of their minor child born outside India within a period of one year of its occurrence.
- Online registration of birth can be made through link: https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in Applicants should submit the printout of the online application and the following documents for registering the birth of the child at the Indian Embassy :
- Passports of both parents
- Birth Certificate issued by the Thjodskr Islands National Registers of Iceland
- Registration of Birth of the child issued by the local authorities and its English translation duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Iceland
- Marriage Certificate of parents – duly attested / apostilled by the CPV Division of Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi (if married in India), or Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Iceland (if married in Iceland). In case of marriage other than in India or Iceland, the marriage certificate must bear attestation of the concerned Indian Mission.
- Affidavit jointly signed by both the parents declaring that they have no objection to the registration of the birth of the child as an Indian national and issue of Indian passport. (duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Iceland if either parent is an Icelandic National). The parents should declare in the affidavit that the child does not hold the passport of any country. The format of Affidavit is appended at the end.
- Two photographs of the child
- Important : Name / Surname of the child mentioned in online application should match with that on the birth certificate issued by local authorities

We, the parents of have no objection to the registration of the birth of the child as an Indian national and issue of Indian passport. We do solemnly and sincerely declare that our child does not hold the passport of any other country. We do solemnly and sincerely declare that all the particulars stated in the application are true and we make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true.

Re-issue of International Driving Permit
Indian nationals under the jurisdiction of Embassy of India, Reykjavik can now submit their application for re-issue of International Driving Permit issued by Government of India.
2. The process will involve the following steps :
Applicant will visit the Embassy of India and fill the Miscellaneous Consular Service form to avail this consular service and pay the prescribed application fee of ISK 1,700 including ICWF by means of bank transfer towards accepting the application for re-issue of International Driving Permit. The following documents along with a self-attested photocopy of each document and one passport size photo are to be submitted to the embassy with the duly filled in Miscellaneous Consular Service form :
- Original passport
- Original Residential Permit
- Address proof for the address in Iceland
- Original valid domestic driving license issued by the Government of India
- Original expired IDP issued by Government of India
3. The embassy will issue a receipt to the applicant with the following details on it :
- Receipt number
- Name of the applicant as per Passport
- Expired IDP number of applicant
- Consular Officer will also certify that applicant is the same as per passport photo on the expired IDP and is holding domestic driving licence issued by Government of India
4. Applicant will apply for fresh issue of IDP through the portal www.parivahan.gov.in and will upload the documents, including the receipt issued by the Mission as mandated under the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. On receipt of the application through the portal, the licensing authority, on verification of the documents, shall issue the IDP and shall courier it directly to the address of the applicant. The licensing authority would levy Rs. 1000/- for the IDP and an additional fee of Rs 2000/-.
