Visa Category - Film (F) Visa (Multiple Entry with 1 year Validity)
- Film (F) Visa will be issued to cast and crew members of international production and official coproductions shooting a Feature Film, TV/Web Commercial Show/Series and TV/Web Reality Show/Series.
- The permission for shooting these categories of production is granted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoI&B), Government of India. The proposals are accepted and processed by the Film Facilitaion Office (FFO). The application is to be submitted online on ffo.gov.in. The detailed Step-by-Step guide is available on the website.

- After the shooting permission has been granted by the MoI&B, the cast and crew members of the approved project are required to apply for Film Visa.
- Step 1 – Apply online on official website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in
- Step 2 - While filling up the Visa form online please select the type of visa correctly e.g., Film Visa. Submit the signed printout of the online filled in application form along with required documents to the Consular Section at Embassy of India, Reykjavik, Tungata 7, 101 Reykjavik, Iceland. - After online submission of the application form, no changes can be made manually/handwritten. In case of any error/changes, please fill a fresh new online application form and use that for further submission to the Consular Section at Embassy of India, Reykjavik.
Documents required for a Film Visa :
- Signed printout of the online filled in application form. All the personal particulars/data entries of the Visa application and signature on it should match with the current valid passport.
- Two color photographs size 2” x 2” inch ( 51 x 51mm ) with plain white background of good quality. One color photo is required to be uploaded online with the Visa application and the other photograph with the printout of the Visa application form.
- Original Icelandic/Foreign passport with minimum validity of 6 months and at least two/three blank visa pages on the passport. In case of Foreign passporte., other than Icelandic, please provide the additional document for status in Iceland (PR/Work Permit/Study Permit/Visa).
- A photocopy of the data page of the passport (self attested).
- Visa fees – Visa fee and Bank account information will be given after submission of the Visa application form at the Consular Section in the Embassy.
- A letter from the Film Production Company stating the exact purpose of the visit and the expected dates of shooting,chosen location/places scheduled for film shooting, particulars of the cast and crew of the project. This letter should be on the Company letterhead and written in English.
- Authorization letter/Permission letter from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India for shooting the film in India.
- Special permits will be required for shooting in sensitive areas and areas declared as restricted/protected/prohibited areas and/or cases involving sensitive subjects.
- Recent utility bill or Bank statement with name and address of applicant printed on it for proof of residence in Iceland (only for non-Icelandic passport holders).
- In case required, more documents can be asked by the Embassy.
