78th Independence Day Celebration by Embassy of India in Reykjavik

     Charge de' Affaires Anisha Tomar hoisted the Tricolour at the Embassy, followed by the National Anthem and President Smt. Droupadi Murmu's address. Several attendees, including Indian citizens and Friends of India, joined the celebration.

    
Members of the Indian diaspora in Iceland enthusiastically participated in the celebrations. Children put up some captivating cultural performances.
     The programme was followed by some light refreshments.
     In the run up to the 78th Independence Day the Embassy organised a painting competition on Patriotic themes. Cd'A distributed the prizes to the winners and other participants during the celebrations at the Chancery.

     Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (Plant4Mother) campaign initiated by PM Narendra Modi, calling everyone to plant a tree in honor of their mothers, Cd'A Anisha Tomar joined Embassy members to celebrate India's 78th Independence Day.
