The Government of India has for the first time announced a National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy. The clarion call of the Policy is “Creative India; Innovative India: रचनात्मकभारत; अभिनवभारत”. The Policy document is available on the website of DIPP : http://dipp.nic.in.
The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is the nodal department to coordinate, guide and oversee implementation of the Policy as also future development of IPRs in India. A Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) has been created as a professional body under the aegis of DIPP to address the above objectives.
